Ingredients You’ll Need

Leftover pulled pork – Use store bought pulled pork or homemade pulled pork. Reheat it with a bit of BBQ sauce for added moisture and flavor.
Soft Hawaiian rolls – Their slight sweetness pairs beautifully with the smoky pulled pork. Look for the sliders sized rolls.
Coleslaw – Adds crunch and a touch of freshness. Use store-bought or homemade. I used this delicious purple cabbage coleslaw but you can swap it out for your favorite store bought creamy coleslaw. Or try this quick and easy homemade coleslaw recipe.
Pickles – Brings a tangy bite to balance the richness. I used bread and butter pickles for this recipe.
BBQ sauce – Use your favorite BBQ sauce variety to enhance the flavors. You can also make this easy homemade BBQ sauce recipe in just a few minutes.
How to Make Pulled Pork Sliders
Prepare the slider buns: Gently place the rolls, top up, on a moveable surface such as a cutting board and use a bread knife to cut them in half in order to have a top and bottom just like any traditional sandwich. Place the tops aside and leave the bottoms, inside up, on the board.
Prepare the pulled pork – Reheat the leftover pork in a pan over low heat with a little BBQ sauce and a splash of water to keep it from drying out.
Assembling the slider sandwiches:
Spread the leftover pulled pork over the rolls, evenly.

Spread the coleslaw over the top of the pulled pork, evenly.
Place one pickle on each slider section. Using the large pickle chips makes easier it fill out each slider. If you are using smaller sized pickles place several on each slider section.

Drizzle the top of the pickles with your favorite BBQ sauce.
Grab the tops of the rolls and place them on top, making sure to line them up with the right top and bottom match for the best fit.

Place the BBQ seasoning in the melted butter and stir well. Brush onto the tops of the sliders.
If desired, sprinkle some minced fresh parsley over the top bun. Serve and enjoy!

Optional: You can also toast your sliders
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake for 10-12 minutes. This helps warm everything up and slightly toasts the buns making them golden brown.
Serve these pork sandwiches your favorite sides such as potato chips, french fries, mac and cheese, corn bread, potato salad and even an easy to make wedge salad.
Ingredient Swaps & Variations
- Bread Alternatives: Try mini brioche buns, dinner rolls, or even toasted slider buns if you don’t have Hawaiian rolls.
- No Coleslaw? Use shredded lettuce or thinly sliced cabbage with a little vinegar dressing. You can use whatever coleslaw is your favorite. Pictured is a classic red cabbage coleslaw, which is my favorite, but you can also use your favorite, store-bought, homemade, or whatever you have on hand.
- Different Pickles: Dill pickles, bread and butter pickles, or even jalapeño slices or pickled red onions work well!
- Cheese Addition: Add a slice of cheese such as cheddar or pepper jack cheese for extra richness.
Tips for the Best Sliders
![best pulled pork sliders topped with coleslaw mix on a serving board](https://remakemyplate.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/leftover-pulled-pork-sliders-15.jpg)
- Don’t Overload the Rolls – Too much filling can make them messy to eat.
- Use a Serrated Knife – When slicing the rolls, a serrated knife helps keep everything intact.
- Be sure to use your favorite barbecue sauce as it will have a strong flavor presence in the recipe. Using your favorite ensures a taste you’ll love. The amount of BBQ sauce used can be adjusted to suit your preferences.
- If desired, you can pull the buns apart and just assemble these one at a time. This is totally up to you on how you go about it. I just do it all at once because it’s much quicker that way.
- You can use any store bought BBQ seasoning you have on hand. Or try this quick mix: 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 tablespoon smoked paprika, 1 teaspoon each black pepper, salt, onion powder and garlic powder.
Storing & Reheating Leftovers
If you have leftover sliders, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
I do not suggest storing these after assembling them as they will get soggy in storage. It’s best to not assemble them if you do not plan on serving them right away.
To reheat, place them in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for 10 minutes or until warmed through. You can also microwave them for 30-45 seconds, though the buns may not stay as crisp.
