This drink is so easy to make. Once you start making it you’ll never go back to spending a small fortune on buying one again!

All of the ingredients are easy to find and you may even have most of them in your pantry. Check out the ingredient tips below for lots of easy swaps.

Ingredients for Starbucks Caramel Ribbon Crunch

Here’s what you’ll need to make this recipe:

ingredients to make this copycat starbucks Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino
  • Ice Cubes – you can’t have an iced Frappuccino without having ice. If
  • Coffee (cold) – make freshly brewed coffee and refrigerate until its cold. For a taste even closer to the real thing I like to buy bags of Starbucks brand roast coffee (whole bean or ground) and use that to make my coffee.

You can also use store bought pre-made coffee if you prefer though making your own is much cheaper. Don’t want caffeine? Then swap the regular coffee out for your favorite decaffeinated coffee.

  • Milk – use your favorite type of milk. Whole milk, low-fat milk or even a milk substitute such as almond milk, soy milk or coconut milk. They will all taste great in this recipe.
  • Caramel sauce – I usually buy a store made caramel sauce to make this recipe. You can find a variety of brands of caramel syrup in the coffee section of your local grocery store.

Want to save a bit of money without missing out on the buttery caramel syrup flavor? Try using a caramel sauce sold in the section for ice cream. I love the Smucker’s Sundae Syrup. It tastes great AND it’s a couple of bucks cheaper than the caramel sauce sold in the coffee section.

If you have your own caramel sauce recipe that you enjoy feel free to use in place of the store bought caramel syrup.

  • Caramel crumbs – these crunchy caramel bits are sprinkled on top of the finished drink. You can make your own crunchy caramel sugar but why bother. There’s several fast and easy swaps that taste delicious. Two of my favorites are using crushed up caramel hard candies. You want Werther’s Originals Hard Candies. They do make soft, chewy caramel candies. Don’t get those.

The other option is to use toffee bits or a crushed toffee bar. Toffee is a buttery, hard caramel topped with chocolate. While chocolate is not in the original Starbucks drink it’s still delicious. The two brands I can find in my local grocery stores are Heath and Skor. If you can find the bags of brickle (what they call broken up toffee bits) grab one. Not only are they delicious to top your Frappuccino but you can use them in baking too!

  • Whipped cream – you’ll want to top your Frappucino with a bit of whipped cream topping. Use the ready made real dairy canned whipped cream. Don’t top your drink with whipped topping such as Cool Whip. It will breakdown into an oily mess.

You can chill your glasses before serving if desired to help keep your drink cold longer. Garnish the inside of the glass with a drizzle of caramel sauce if desired.

To make the drink, pour the cold coffee, milk and caramel sauce into a blender. Add the ice.

Pour the Frappuccino into the glass all the way to the top. Garish the top with whipped cream, some caramel drizzle and a sprinkle of caramel crumbs. Serve right away.

Can you add espresso to this?

Sure you can easily add a shot of espresso to this drink. Simply make and cool your espresso shots before adding to the drink to keep it from melting the ice.

Add the espresso when you are mixing the coffee, milk and caramel syrup together.
