Into the crockpot add the diced onion, diced tomato, crushed tomato, minced garlic, oregano and basil. Stir well.
Add in the green beans and stir again.
Top with the pieces of chicken and press them so they just begin to sink into the liquid.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Cook on low heat for 8 hours or until the internal temperature of the chicken is 160 degrees.
Stir well and serve.
Notes
If using canned string beans add them to the crockpot about 1 hour before serving as they are already cooked and only need to be heated up.Use chicken thighs in place of the chicken breasts.
