Add all of the ingredients to a 4 quart or larger slow cooker and stir everything together to mix.
Cover and cook on LOW for 4-6 hours.

Use your favorite sweetener in place of the brown sugar in this recipe.Replace some of the water with milk or your favorite milk replacement (almond, soy, etc) for a creamier taste and texture.If you have a programmable slow cooker set it to automatically switch to the WARM setting once the cooking time is done.
