How To Reheat Chick Fil A Chicken Nuggets (Air Fryer, Oven, Microwave)

Got leftover Chick-Fil A Nuggets? Here’s how to reheat Chick Fil A Chicken Nuggets so they are just as delicious and tasty as they were when you first bought them.

I’m a fan of Chick Fil A Chicken Nuggets. I don’t purchase take out often. When I do buy them I often end up purchasing the 30 pack because who doesn’t want Chick Fil A Nugget leftovers? I’m certainly not going to turn down these leftovers. As these are my favorite fast food chicken nuggets I sometimes even buy extra nuggets so I have leftovers. If you reheat them correctly they will taste just as good the next day.

Chick Fil A Chicken Nuggets in the air fryer

You can easily reheat your leftover nuggets in the microwave, oven and air fryer.

Reheating in the microwave:

Out of all of the methods used to reheat chicken nuggets this is the one I don’t use that often. Sure it’s a fast way to reheat the nuggets but the breading on the nuggets gets soft. I’m sure most people’s personal preferences is to end up with crispy nuggets.

If I do reheat them in the microwave, for the best results, I like to put a napkin or a paper towel on a microwave-safe plate first. I think this helps to absorb any extra moisture that can make the breading soft. Reheat the nuggets on high for 40 to 60 seconds. The time to heat them will depend upon your microwave.

Reheating in the oven:

Reheating Chick Fil A Nuggets in the oven is my second favorite method. The nuggets will at least get crispy in the oven.

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Place your leftover chicken pieces on a baking sheet and heat them in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 120 degrees F.

Reheating Chick Fil A Chicken Nuggets in the Air Fryer:

This is the best way to reheat Chick Fil A Chicken Nuggets.

It’s fast.

It’s easy.

The nuggets stay nice and crisp. It takes less time than heating them up in the oven. Plus, I don’t have to heat up the whole kitchen while reheating 10 nuggets.

As the chicken nuggets are already cooked it doesn’t take long to reheat them.

I have a basket type air fryer. Place your leftover chicken nuggets in a single layer in the air fryer basket. I’ve seen some people say they like to spray the nuggets with a bit of olive oil or canola oil. Personally I don’t think they need to be sprayed with any additional oil to make them crispy.

If you have an air fryer with a wire rack you may need to place the nuggets on a piece of aluminum foil.

Cook the chicken nuggets in the air fryer at 400 degrees for 5 minutes. You won’t have to turn them as the air fryer allows the hot air to flow around them making them crispy on both sides.

If you happen to have any leftover french fries add them to the baking tray. The reheating process for fries is about the same cooking time as the chicken nuggets. No need to spray the fries with a little oil. They come out nice and crispy when reheated in the air fryer.

Remove and enjoy the air fryer chicken nuggets with your favorite dipping sauce or BBQ sauce.

How to store leftover chicken nuggets:

I can’t think of a time that we’ve had chicken nuggets last more than a day in the refrigerator. But, they can easily be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for 3 days.

Don’t leave the nuggets in the cardboard box that they originally came in. You will find that they will begin to dry out as the refrigerator pulls out the moisture.

Can you freeze Chick Fil A Chicken Nuggets?

Sure you can. Place any leftover chicken nuggets in a freezer bag or an air tight container and store in the freezer for up to 2 months. Don’t forget to mark the freezer bag or container with the date they were frozen.

You can easily reheat the frozen nuggets in the air fryer. You’ll want to heat them at a slightly lower temperature to keep the breading from burning before the nuggets are heated through.

Reheat frozen chicken nuggets at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Usually I start by heating them for 10 minutes and then checking them. Often some of the larger nugget pieces will need a bit longer to heat them through. I’ll remove the nuggets that are finished and then heat the remaining ones for another 1 to 2 minutes.
