Equipment

  • baking sheet
  • aluminum foil
  • Mixing bowl
  • Mixing spoon
  • Sharp knife

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French Baguette
  • 1 stick butter softened
  • 4-6 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley minced
  • 2 tablespoons Rosemary minced
  • 2 tablespoons chives minced
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Zest
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • In a bowl combine the softened butter, garlic, lemon juice, parsley, rosemary, chives, salt and pepper. Stir until the flavored butter is well combined.
  • Prepare the bread by cutting slices into the bread. Don't cut all the way through the bread. Stop about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch from the bottom of the bread. You can also cut the loaf in half the long way creating two bread halves.
  • Spread the garlic butter between each of the slices. Holding the slices apart sprinkle some of the shredded cheese in between the slices.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Wrap the client bread in foil to hold the slices together while baking.
  • Bake for about 8 minutes. Peel back the top of the foil and bake for another 2 to 3 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
