In a bowl combine the softened butter, garlic, lemon juice, parsley, rosemary, chives, salt and pepper. Stir until the flavored butter is well combined.
Prepare the bread by cutting slices into the bread. Don't cut all the way through the bread. Stop about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch from the bottom of the bread. You can also cut the loaf in half the long way creating two bread halves.
Spread the garlic butter between each of the slices. Holding the slices apart sprinkle some of the shredded cheese in between the slices.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Wrap the client bread in foil to hold the slices together while baking.
Bake for about 8 minutes. Peel back the top of the foil and bake for another 2 to 3 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
