Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Hand held mixer
  • baking sheet

Ingredients

  • 1 can Crescent dough
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese softened
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup strawberry jam or preserves
  • 1/2 cup Candy melts Red

Instructions

Make the crescent rolls:

  • Start by making the cream cheese filling. Place the cream cheese, milk, lemon juice and vanilla extract in a bowl. Using a hand mixer blend until smooth.
  • Sprinkle the sugar over the cream cheese mixture. Continue to mix until blended. Set the cream cheese mixture aside.
  • Preheat oven to 375 F. Spray a baking sheet with non-stick spray.
  • Unroll the crescent dough sheet. Cut it into 8 equal pieces (see the photos).
  • Spread a rounded teaspoon of cream cheese on each square. Leave space around all 4 edges.
  • Spread a teaspoon of jelly on top of the cream cheese.
  • Starting on one end begin rolling the dough. As you roll it use a fork or your fingers to gently crimp the edges of the dough as you roll it. This will help to keep the filling from leaking out while baking.
  • Place filled crescent dough on the baking sheet. Bake 10 to 13 minutes or until the tops are golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
  • Follow the directions on your package of candy melts/candy coating. Use a sandwich bag to help you pipe the melted candy on top of each crescent roll.

Topping the stuffed crescent rolls:

  • Place a plastic sandwich or storage bag into a cup. Place it with the point of one corner facing the bottom of the cup. Spoon the melted candle melts/candy coating into the bag.
  • Squeeze it into one corner of the bag and twist the top to make it easier to hold.
  • Snip a tiny piece of the corner from the plastic bag. The smaller the piece removed the thinner the drizzled candy melt. Drizzle the melted candy coating back and forth over the top of the crescents.
  • Set the finished crescents aside to allow the drizzle to harden. Place the baking sheet with the crescents in the refrigerator for 5 to 10 minutes if you want the drizzle to harden quickly.
