Everything Bagels were my first exposure to what is now known as Everything Seasoning Mix.
It’s the deliciously tasty topping that was sprinkled over bagels. There are various stories as to who should be credited with the creation of this mixture. No matter who invented it everyone now knows what it is and whipping up a batch is super easy to do.
While this started out as a topping for bagels it is now used to top whatever you can imagine.
Before we get to the things you can top with this seasoning mix let’s get to making some.
Here are the ingredients you will need:

Poppy Seeds

Sesame Seeds or a mixture of white and black sesame seeds

Minced Dried Garlic

Minced Dried Onion

Flaked or Coarse Sea Salt
Once you have all of your spices ready to go you can quickly make the Everything Bagel Seasoning. All you have to do is combine the spices in a bowl and stir. That is it!
Store the spice blend in a sealed jar or container until you are ready to use.

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
- 2 tablespoon white sesame seeds or 1 tablespoon white and 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoon dried minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoon dried minced onion
- 2 teaspoons flaked sea salt or course salt
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the poppy seeds, sesame seeds, dried garlic, dried onion, and salt.
- Stir until well combined.
- Store in a sealed jar or container.

One way I love to use this mixture is by putting it on eggs. I use my muffin top pan to make small egg rounds topped with Everything Seasoning. These can be used to make sausage breakfast sandwiches (egg sandwiched between two sausage patties), eaten as they are or use to make Chaffle Egg sandwiches.
To make Everything Eggs start by scrambling a half dozen eggs. Spray the muffin top pan with nonstick spray.
Pour the egg mixture into the muffin top wells and sprinkle the Everything Seasoning over the tops.
Bake in a 350 F oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until the eggs are set.
The egg rounds should easily lift out of the pan. Use to make breakfast sandwiches or store up to 7 days in the refrigerator. These are perfect for make and take breakfast meals during the week.
Everything but the bagel seasoning mix can be combined with keto chaffles to create a low carb version of Everything Bagels with cream cheese.
