These cheese and egg waffles are bread like and can easily be used to create your favorite sandwiches.

I’ve discovered that if you warm up (or even eat them cold) you can top them with cream cheese and Everything But The Bagel Seasoning mix. It reminds me of my former carb eating days and having an Everything Bagel with cream cheese.

Chaffles are super easy to make. It’s just shredded cheese and egg cooked in a waffle maker.

The traditional sized waffle maker works great and I can make 4 waffles at one time. When making 4 chaffles I will use 1 cup of shredded cheese and 2 eggs. If I want less than 4 chaffles then using 1/2 cup of cheese and 1 egg will produce 2 chaffles.

Tips for Making the Best Chaffles

Adjust the texture: Want them crispier? Use more shredded cheese and less egg. Want them fluffier? Add a little almond flour or coconut flour for structure.

Use a mini waffle maker: The Dash mini waffle maker is a favorite in the keto community because it gives you the perfect size and crispiness. If using a full-size waffle maker, double the recipe as needed.

Let them cool: As tempting as it is to dig in right away, chaffles crisp up best after a few minutes of cooling on a wire rack.

Don’t overfill the waffle maker: The batter will spread as it cooks. Too much batter can cause overflow and make cleanup harder.

How to Store and Freeze Chaffles

Refrigerator: Store leftover chaffles in an airtight container for up to 3 days. To reheat, pop them in the toaster or toaster oven for a crisp texture.

Freezer: Chaffles freeze beautifully! Let them cool completely, then layer them between sheets of parchment paper and place in a freezer-safe bag or container. They’ll keep well for up to 2 months.

To reheat from frozen: No need to thaw. Just toast in a toaster or toaster oven until heated through and crispy.
